Bio:

Jeffrey Dunn studies primarily epistemology and the philosophy of science, particularly looking at the best methods for gathering accurate beliefs. He also has a special interest in Epistemic Consequentialism; i.e., what is the best thing to do that results in the best consequences. He investigates whether or not mathematics theory and gaming theory can be used to help determine an optimal strategy for the formation of beliefs.

Dunn has collaborated with Jeffrey Hansen, professor of chemistry, to teach a Winter Term course, Sweet and Savory Science, about the chemistry and ethics of food and cooking. Dunn also teaches courses about logic and the ethics of science.
