Howard Brooks uses weather balloons for high-altitude, stratosphere research, such as radiation, sunlight intensity and ozone. He is working to install two new optical telescopes, one on the roof of the Julian Science & Mathematics Center and the other in É«ºüÈë¿Ú Nature Park. Brooks also is working to install a radio astronomy instrument and an old-style large satellite dish on the Julian rooftop, which would allow viewing/study of super nova signals, center of the galaxy, solar and lunar events, comets, planets, etc.
