Part-time Librarian with rank of Part-time Associate Professor

Misti Shaw oversees the Music Library and holds the rank of Associate Professor. She teaches integrated instruction for the School of Music, manages its collections, and assists faculty and students with their research queries. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from Oklahoma City University, a Master of Arts in Music from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory, and a Master of Science in Library Science from the University of North Texas. Prior to É«ºüÈë¿Ú, she served as the sabbatical replacement Music Librarian at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. She is a member of the Music Library Association (MLA), as serves as co-coordinator of the New Members Forum and is a member of the Career Development & Services committee. She has also served as editor of the MLA Newsletter (2009-14), and as a member on the Emerging Technologies committee, Publications committee, and the Web Advisory committee.  Her book chapter "Music Library Environments and Position Types" appears in the third edition of Careers in Music Librarianship (2014), and her chapters "Cello" and "Percussion" will appear in the upcoming fourth edition of A Basic Music Library.   Shaw's research interests include instruction, active learning, and effective assessment.
